Benjamin Thomas joins our Conversations: Careers in Agricultural and Food Law Speaker Series
Following his Congressional work, Ben began his service at the USDA. He served as Chief of Staff for the Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Mission Area including the Farm Service Agency, Foreign Agricultural Service, and Risk Management Agency.
He then was appointed Deputy Under Secretary for the Marketing and Regulatory Programs, overseeing the Agricultural Marketing Service, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration.
Ben was raised on a cotton farm in Lubbock, Texas, where his family still farms.
